Walking at the Roaches
We walked up to Rockhall Cottage beneath the cliffs and had a picnic.

Eric and Margaret were waiting for us at the parking place beneath the Roaches.

We walked up to Rockhall Cottage beneath the cliffs and had our picnic. In the afternoon we climbed the steep steps up through the cliffs, this was very difficult for us.

We came a different way down through the woods. There had been a lot of damage to the trees because of high winds and recent heavy snow. Sonia cleared some branches off the path and we picked up some litter.

We had tea and biscuits back at Rockhall Cottage before going home.
Bottoms Reserviour Ranger Centre

We met Sarah, Terry and Dave? at Bottoms Reservoir Ranger Centre and National Park Education Centre. We walked up through lanes looking at walls and reservoirs. We found some sheep in a barn. Martin and Roger climbed some styles.

We lost the path so we came back down the way we went up!
Derbyshire Level
Walking along Derbyshire level in the snow.
Moorfield in the snow
We met at Moorfield to walk along the “DerbyshireLevel.” It was a snowy day and the walk was not level at all! During the walk we looked at how walls and buildings were made of the local stone.

We struggled in the snow but the views accross to Bleaklow and back down to Glossop were great.

Goats along the route of the Mass Trespas of Kinder Scout
From Hayfield, we followed the route of the Mass Trespass towards Kinder Scout.
Keith and Ian (Peak Park Rangers) met us at Bowden Bridge car park near Hayfield. We followed the route of the Mass Trespass towards Kinder Scout.

We found some pygamy goats and slowly plucked up courage to stroke them. Ian showed us the sheep wash enclosure that has been restored by the National Park.

On the way back there were some Kestrels on the ground behaving strangely. Perhaps they were disputing each others territary.
The Millenium Walkway, New Mills
We walked along the Milenium Walkway at New Mills. We had to cross a bridge under a waterfall.

It was a steep decent down to the River Goyt and took some of us a long time.

Once down we followed the Goyt downstream. We had to walk beneath a waterfall!

The Rangers helping us were Jane and Terry.



The Sett Valley Trail, Hayfield
Today we walked along the Sett Valley Trail. It was very windy.

Today we met up with Eric and Margaret (Peak Park Rangers) and walked along the Sett Valley Trail from Hayfield towards New Mills.

It was a windy day but it stayed fine for us.
